![]() And my project included me ripping out 45 110V outlets and replacing them with Lutron outlets with Claro faceplates to be visually consistent. Meanwhile I've spent about $2.5K so far and it's painful to my budget.and I've got another $3300 to go to finish my home. He spent low five figures and he also didn't care that much about the spend ((he put seeTouch keypads everywhere!). I'm new to Radio RA3 but I've seen it in other's home and I have a good friend who did his own (large) house in RA2 a decade ago. Some of us have bigger budgets than others. Whether all this is worth the money is subjective. ![]() TLDR: for those who did non lutron smart switches / motion stuff at first, is the premium of the RA2/RA3 worth it, just for everything to work together with no fuss? Doing that is probably $100 per switch (switch and motion), versus the $225 for the RA3 (switch and motion). What I’m asking, for anyone that started with none lutron stuff, is it worth the jump in costs to go for the pro line? Does everything just work? I would be DIYing so a learning curve is obvious.īasically if I want to keep my switch aesthetic I would need to put a smart relay behind the Sunnata switch and then also get something like a hue motion sensor to allow me to run some automations in the background. If I stay lutron the obvious choice is RA3 to match the rest of my house. I’ll never do lutron shades as I will be running eve HomeKit motion blinds. This is maybe 10 devices give or take and eventually maybe expand. and to run them on motion activated automations. For the remainder of the switches I want to do smart switches, things like kitchen, hallway, basement, closest etc. I just finished replacing 85% of switches in my house to the new Sunnata touch (not smart). So I have been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure out what I want to do. The Lutron call centers are US-based and exceptionally helpful.
